Removing certain followers from your profile is another form of decluttering your Instagram. Some users only want the followers that they are following. Other users might want to remove followers who show a habit of unacceptable behavior, such as posting offensive comments. Whatever the case may be, Instagram allows you to remove followers without the drastic measure of blocking them.

If you have a public account, anyone can follow you without your permission. While scrolling through your followers, you might notice that some of these users are completely random, and you might feel uncomfortable having your posts show up on their feed.

Fortunately, Instagram allows you to manage your followers even if your account is public:

  1. Access your profile page from the bottom of the screen.
  2. Click on your followers at the top of the page.
  3. Find the follower you wish to remove and tap the three dots next to his/her name.
  4. Click “Remove.”

Followers will not receive a notification that you removed them.
